President APPNA NY Chapter
It is a great honor and privilege to be the president of the NY chapter of APPNA, the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent in North America. It is my strong desire to give back to my chapter that led me to accept the opportunity to work with our dedicated group including our executive committee, our members and physicians living in state of New York.
I stand in line with past Presidents who serve the organization before me and made the APPNA NY Chapter into what it is today. I must thank and congratulate the previous council led by Dr. Dogar for the excellent work carried out last year.
This is an exciting time for APPNA NY Chapter, with great opportunity for involvement existing at every level
As president of the chapter, I have goals for 2023 to help accomplish our mission.
- I will focus on increasing the membership numbers through engagement with other physicians and keeping low membership fees. I plan to involve the new members in different ongoing programs.
- Our chapter will also establish a platform to help young pakistani physicians get into research, clinical observership and medical externship.
- Guide Fresh Graduates how to prepare and get into Residency Program.
- Chapter will take steps to initiate voluntary activities that will help in promoting medical care for the underprivileged population.
- I will encourage medical education and delivery of better health care in Pakistan, specifically by arranging donations of medical literature and medical supplies and donations to existing organizations.
- APPNA NY chapter will also engage professionally with other organizations while serving the Community with empathy and compassion.
- Finally, I will arrange social gatherings for our members and continue medical education activities for physician colleagues.
I am requesting all physicians of Pakistani descent to join APPNA – NY Chapter and support our ongoing projects and help me accomplish these goals.
